Dear Women’s Board associates and conference attendees,
I am coming to the end of my three-year term as president of the Women’s Board. With the help of my awesome Executive Committee chairs and committee members, we have had a productive and wicked enjoyable term. This will be the last conference I am hosting, so you don’t want to miss this one. I promise it will be jam-packed with high value professional and personal development, plus a whole lot of fun!
The next WB President and Women of the Year Awards:
Soon we will begin accepting nominations for our annual awards: Auto Care Woman of the Year, Female Shop Owner of the Year and Auto Care Woman of Excellence. We will also be accepting nominations for the next president of the WB. I will be giving specific information about the nomination process during the conference and then will send out a detailed letter in August.
Our 2016 Summer Leadership Conference is just around the corner!
We have an excellent line-up of speakers, a wicked fun off-sight event and tons of networking opportunities. The early bird deadline has been extended to July 8, 2016. Register now to receive the discounted rate.
At your request our keynote speaker is going to give a two-hour class on emotional intelligence (EQ). This class will be taught by Rhonda Waters. She spoke at our winter conference and received the highest review scores on record. Since EQ is one of her expertise, we are so excited that she is coming back.
***Important step you need to take*** Once you register, you will receive an email from our staff liaison, Katy McQuiston, with a unique access code to take the online EQ assessment. To learn more about EQ and how we are incorporating it into our conference, read our recent blog post.
***ALSO*** We are seeking interested individuals with high scores from the EQ assessment to participate in a panel discussion at the conference. For more information, contact Katy McQuiston or Tammy Chaffee.
Our headline speakers include Rhonda Waters, Bill Hanvey and Allison Graham, but we have so many excellent speakers in store for you that you will need to go to our website for the full agenda.
Rebranding the Women’s Board:
The Member Development Committee has been hard at work since last February coming up with ideas to rebrand The Women’s Board to better reflect who we are and what we do. I’m elated to report that they nailed it! We will have a special presentation during the conference to update everyone and give you a sneak preview. We will then roll out our new name, logo and tag line at AAPEX.
Women’s Board Membership Renewal:
Women’s Board annual memberships expire July 31, 2016. Look for a renewal notice that will be sent to your email this month. If you are coming to the summer leadership conference, you can renew your membership and choose associate pricing on the registration form. If your company is a sponsor, remember you may be eligible for a free annual membership.
Sponsorship renewal notices went out last week. Now is the perfect time for your company to become a sponsor. We will be having a big splash all over AAPEX this year. We will be showcasing our new name and logo, announcing the winners of our three awards, the scholarship winners and the next president and Executive Committee chairs. Our sponsors will be attached to the large amount of press and all the spotlights the WB will be receiving.
